| If we contact you to inform you that your site is sending out unsolicited mail or spam please be assured that we understand that in almost all cases this is happening unintentionally! In most cases this happens due to poorly written code or insecure passwords, these situations can easily be avoided by ensuring you are running the latest and most secure versions of all scripts and changing your password on a regular basis. If your site is sending out this sort of mail, when it is reported (and it will be!) this can harm both our reputation as well as your own, and can affect mail acceptance rates for all users on the server in question. As such, sites sending out this sort of mail may be immediately suspended by our Support Team. What should you do? Firstly, only contact Support to request the site is unsuspended when you are sure you have time to fix the problem. Repeated spam offences are viewed in very bad light! We will have attempted to identify the script/directory in question for you, this should be your first port of call. Rename the script to something else as soon as possible (even if this breaks your site) as this will stop the spammers being able to hit the script with false information to generate the spam. Look at your scripts, are you running the latest and most secure versions? If not, upgrade your scripts and follow any security advice the vendor of that script gives you. If you wrote the script yourself, look into how you can secure the script in a better way. If you still have problems you can contact our Support Team to request Premium Support where we will diagnose and fix the issue at our Premium Support rates.
