Why do I need to do this?If you bought your domain name from someone other than ourselves you'll need to change the nameservers / update the DNS (or transfer the domain to us, then we'll take care of it in future!). If you've purchased the domain from ourselves we'll normally have done this for you when we ordered your domain name. Our servers act as a place for your files and email to live, but unless you tell your domain name where that place to live is - nobody will ever see the files. The best analogy of this is to think of the server as a house, but you won't get any mail unless someone has your address and the postman knows where to deliver it to! Updating NameserversWhen you make a change DNS these changes need time to propogate around the internet, you make the change in one place but this needs to be passed on millions of times to servers around the internet. During this time your website may appear to be up or down at random, and this can continue for 24-72 hours - only then will your site be stable in all locations. Making the ChangeBecause of the vast amount of domain registrars around the world, we can't provide (or keep updated) methods for each and every registrar's change method. As such you should contact your own registrar to discuss how to change nameservers - the nameservers needed for your account can be found in your "Welcome Email".
